Fruits are known to be to be part of our diets although some people just love eating them. Some of the fruits that are loved by almost everyone are bananas and apples. However, you have an option of so many fruits that may look weird, but you can eat them. Read on to learn some of the fruits you can eat no matter their strange characteristics.
The first fruit is Kiwano, a fruit that has bright orange spikes on the outside while the inside is bright green with yellow and green seeds. It an indigenous fruit especially in Sub-Saharan Africa and is related to the melon family. The other unique fruit is Durian, which is native to Southeast Asia and is a favorite fruit there. It is characterized by a powerful scent that resembles that of fried onions, and it is prohibited in places such as part of Singapore. In other parts of the world, Jackfruit is a common fruit. In Southeast Asia, this fruit that is the largest to come from a tree is very popular. Note that it can be cooked and has become popular as a meat substitute in vegan restaurants.
It is also important to note that you can have a different taste for Soursoup. Although Cherimoya is grown in many parts of the world, it is native to South America. Remember that if you grind its seeds, you could be poisoned, so it required diligence and caution if you are eating it. Similarly, Atemoya, which is a mix that came from Cherimoya, and has a shape similar to the heart, also has a poisonous seed. It is common in California, and you can eat it by scooping out its flesh with a spoon.
Akebia Quinata is another unique fruit that comes from chocolate scented flowers and is eaten mainly in Japan as a seasonal delicacy. The rind of this fruit can be stuffed with ground meat and deep-fried. Rambutan is the last weird fruit you can eat, and has a shape that looks like a small red hairy ball. This fruit can be used to make jams and jelly and is also known to do well in places that have a warm climate such as parts of Central America.
